Muhurat calendar

Available time or auspicious time?

When you book on JustPandit you see when a pandit is free. That is not the same as a muhurat.

A muhurat is a time judged auspicious for a particular ceremony and family, worked out from the Panchang — the lunar day, the nakshatra and other factors — and often from the birth charts of the people involved. Different traditions use different rules.

The times you see when booking are simply the times a pandit is available. They are not muhurats, and we never label them as such.

How families usually do it

  1. Ask your family pandit or a Vedic astrologer for a muhurat for your ceremony and city.
  2. Book the pandit for that date and start time — choose the slot that matches.
  3. If no slot matches, contact us and we will try to arrange one.

We do not publish a general muhurat calendar: a muhurat depends on your location, your tradition and often your family’s charts, and we do not show timings that have not been calculated and checked for you.
